Anemone or coral?

Sold to me as a coral...now I think it is an anemone of some type. I'm referring to the red orange polyps...not the clam or the snail...

It seems to like light...and it eats.

I would say for sure that it is a peice of coral. What kind....not sure. I'm checking. Some kind of branching coral.

PS. It's very pretty. :wink:
 
It's not an anemone. You do know that a lot of corals(shrooms) are actually called coral anemones or anemone corals? Looks like some kind of freaky shroom to me.

By no means am I a coral expert, but I know that the candy cane coral is not the same.

The candy cane is what we just bought. Just checking cause they are very similar.
 
Yup, just spent dome time googling blasomussa and that is definitely it. Thanks! Mine seems to be doing fine although it would be getting a lot of light compared to what advice I've just read.

Wow, nice call Rev! That is a great shot of the coral. I have a blasomussa as well, but it does not look like that. Very cool 8)
