Angel Fish Ate Something Weird

I just finished changing the water/vacuuming the gravel in my 40 gal tank. Right now, the only fish in there is my medium sized angel fish. Once I finished vacuuming everything, there were some fuzzy white bits floating around (I'm assuming moldy leftover food or fish waste) but I figured I'd wait for the filter to get rid of them. Then, I saw my angel fish swim up and eat one of the really gross looking fuzzy white floaty things....will he be okay? He seems to be acting normal but it just looked really gross, do fish usually eat that kind of thing?

angel fish like to eat things that are moving . it will probably be ok . if u are worried feed him some de shelled frozen peas. just de frost in hot water and squeeze them out of there shell
