so i have a pair of angelfish that i have had for about a week in my planted 40gal breeder and the last two days iv seen them eating away my sword plant.. they are getting fed 2x a day so they shouldnt be hungry.. does anyone know if there is anything i can do to help stop them from killing my rooted plants?

plant for eggs not food

ok so im not very observant... i just noticed there are TONS of eggs all over one of the leaves... the angels are in a community tank and im fairly new to the whole aquarium hobby... what should i expect to happen? the angels seem very guarded of the plant so is it possible for eggs to survive??

Yes it is. Just wait for them to hatch. If you have any fish like plecos they might eat the eggs at night so you may want to move them out. It seems like your anelfish are being good parents so they may make it.

they were not eating the plants they were cleaning it for them to breed. it is possible for the eggs to survive but new pairs can take some time to get the spawning right. if they do hatch and become wigglers in the tank the other fish will most likely eat them.

LOL

I thought the same thing when I saw my Angels doing the same thing. Still waiting for results in the tank. Have black neons and head and tail lights in with them as well as a Pleco and corys. Need to get another 35 high if I want them to breed.:(
