Earlier today I spent 2 hours with vinegar and a razor blade scraping off the calcium that builds up on the rim of the tank, the filter, the hood, the heater etc. What finally drove me to do it was that pieces of it were starting to get into the tank and it looks terrible on black sand.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening, or do you just need to give everything a good clean every now and then? If you let it go it can really get to the point where the tank starts to look bad.
