API testing kit/ Aqua one

Hi I am a bit confused about my testing kits. I used an aqua one liquid ammonia kit and the reading was 0 ammonia I then used an API liquid test kit for ammonia and it came up 0.25 how can they read different readings? I am doing a water change to make sure anyway I might ditch the Aqua one test kit

It is possible to get a false positive reading from various causes. I wouldn't worry about it if it is just .25ppm. Although I'd test frequently to make sure it's safe. Test your source water and some distilled water and compare.
