What really is the best way to aquascape a 29 gallon tank for the best filtration? Right now I have mine all toward the back and centered.

For the best filtration don't have them leaning on the back glass. Filtration depends more on the flow. Set your rocks up leaving some space in the back and put a power head pointing towards your overflow box and then get another one to move water in front of our rocks. Good luck!

I have a fluval 305 filter for the tank. Should I put both powerheads on the same side?

I put mine in different sides of the tank. It takes time I'm still messing with how my powerheads are positioned.

I think I have everything where it can have good circulation. I put the powerheads on opposite sides. But I did take one piece of live rock out and put it in my bigger tank. I think I had too much in there for good flow.
