Does a single ghost shrimp go about his life happy in a tank all lone? I could see yes because the endless food supply and no competition for it.
On the other hand I have seen my ghost shrimp interact, sometimes cleaning each other off. I'm guessing picking tiny bacteria off each other's back?
I have a ghost shrimp tank with 10 in there and they seem to do their own thing 90% of the time but I also always see the same shrimp together. The 3 large ones stay together and roam around like a 3 man flying V. The 5 medium ones all cluster in a corner under the heater and by the moss ball. The 2 small ones just hide together most of the time with the medium sized ones.
Any thoughts? Just got me wondering.
