I have a bunch of pond snails in my 40 gal. So i thought i get some assasin snails. So far i have not seen one shell of a dead snail. Why are my assasin snails not eating them?

They don't eat tons of snails maybe one a day. But if you ever notice that they bury themselves in the substrate or sit in one place for a long time they are probably eating one. I've had 5 in my tank for about a month and have only seen a few snail shells but can tell there has been a significant drop in the population

So they bury them self when there feeding? So shells will in the sand then

I assume that's what they are doing. I noticed the only time they stay still for any length of time in my tank is when they are eating. I have gravel so can't really check for shells
