Does anyone know what one would need to set up an auto water change system? The plumbing where my fish tank is going to be would make it really easy to set up an automatic water change system. I just do not know how to do the actual system or the equipment needed.

u would need a water pump hooked up to the tap and a float switch. then the plumbing running from the water to the tank. the float switch is the main thing. it just floats near on the top somewhere and when it sinks to low a sensor will tell the pump to turn on and put the water back in the aquarium. this is more common for saltwater set ups to maintain salinity levels. u may have more luck posting in the saltwater section. u will get better details.

you have to add declorinator as well that could be a problem to put on a timer.... unless ur pumping from a storage tank thats already been treated.
You will still need to do your mandatory tests on the tank.

What about gravel vacs? it needs to be cleaned aswell. JM2c
