Does anyone know how well the bacteria from a FW filter can survive outside of water?
The reason I'm asking is that I'm now running some form of wet-dry trickle filter, and it just struck me that if (when) the power goes out, and if it's for some time, that the filter material will be out of water whereas in my previous set up it would've at least remained submersed.
Due to tropical storms it's not usual to be without power for up to 10 days in one go (perhaps only once every few years, but it can happen).
