So, I am a big fan of the zen/asian thing and I have been wondering for a while if bamboo would be OK in an aquarium. I did see some in a tank at Petsmart today, but it's Petsmart lol. I also got an aquarium book for my birthday that has Bamboo listed as an aquarium plant. I am not worried about the plant so much as the effect it would have on the tank and fish. . . I have a bamboo plant that I got from Meijer's but that might have chemicals in it. Has anyone used bamboo in a tank?

It will die fully submersed. You could try using a riparium planter and it would probably grow out of the water. I used to use coat hangers to hang pothos roots in the water for my Bettas to hide in. They grew very well.
