Base rock

I have been raising angelfish for the last 35 years but want to convert to
saltwater fish. I did have a saltwater tank about 5 years ago but took it down when we moved to another town. I have some base rock that has been laying out on the patio for about three years it has been there when I would spray around the house (malathion) could I use it if I soaked it in clorox for a week or so and then soaked it in some fresh water and then washed it real good and allow it to dry? I am in no hurry it will be January before I convert my 55 to salt.

I would have to say, if you are even having second thoughts about implementing rock that has been subject to those conditions, I would not use it for fear it may leach out into the water.. Maybe someone else might have a more possitive answer?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Base rock is too cheap to take that chance.

Thanks for the responses I have decided to go with some live rock when I set my tank up.
