I'm very excited about this build finally getting rolling, and am making some headway battling the bryopsis by hiking up my magnesium levels with Kent Tech M. It's set up with an AquaClear 70, Reef Octo BH2000, Jäger 150 watt heater, and 2 Koralia EVO 1400's on a Hydor Wave maker. In the AC70, I run a sponge, then GFO, then filter floss on top. Im currently using a TaoTronics dimmable LED blue/white light, that is set to about 70% white and 100% blue. Here's a pic of the current setup...
As far as livestock, there are 2 mocha clowns, lavender dotty back, tiger goby, and a clown goby. I also have a couple snails, a coral banded shrimp, and a red legged hermit crab. The clowns are finally hosting my BTA.
I have a nice hammer coral at my LFS I will be adding once this algae subsides, or as soon as I'm confident it is nearly eradicated. Where would be a good spot for this hammer coral? I'm thinking to the left of the anemone?
Also, concerning corals, with the dimmable LED, I know I must acclimate them, but do I need to "reverse" acclimate the ones that are in the tank every time, or just drop the lighting when a new
one is added and slowly bring it up?
Also, any suggestions and or comments as to
help improve my tank and help me gain experience and knowledge are always welcome...
PS... Here's one of my dogs chillin
