best black background

I get a store bought tank background they are normally black on back. Then smear the black side with Vaseline put it straight on the glass then take a credit card and go top to bottom pressing it to the glass and get all the air bubbles out. It makes a very vivid black on your tank plants pop!

Thanks for the help everyone. I bought some black poster board today. Considering that it was so cheap if it doesn't work out its no big deal. Sadly my LFS only has blue on back aquarium backgrounds. I'll post some picks when I do install it.
