I've been looking at various reference books online. All are relatively expensive. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good planted tank reference text that has various plant listings and the ecology of a balanced planted tank. If I need 2 books b/c of the 2 topics, that ok, but I'd just like to get some input as to which ones are really worth the high prices.

Thanks in advance.

This book had good reviews at Amazon, but it is missing more than 50% of the plants I searched for. It is by no means a mini encyclopedia. Redemptive value is that it is easy to understand, and it does address propagating plants and choosing healthy ones. Rather than purchase, I'd advise a library copy for reading.

What it does have is well written and easy to understand, but not completely comprehensive.
