I just put my first three fish into my fully fishless cycled tank. They are glow light tetras. The aquarium is a 14 gallon Aqueon and there are two screw in sockets for lighting. Only one of the two that came with the tank works.
I am going to buy a new bulb, but wonder what the best "spectrum" bulb is for these fish. The one that works seems to have a very yellowish color and I think it would be this way even with the second bulb.
I plan on adding two more glow-light tetras and then a school of neon tetras. I will also be adding Mickey Mouse platy.
Any recommendations?
The hood says 20" New "E" Incandescent Aquarium Reflector, 120 volt, 50 watt, 80 hz. I have no idea what this means in terms of variability of light spectrum.
Thanks.
