Hi,

From your own personal or friend's experiences, where's the best place to buy live rock?

I can't afford to buy a lot at once, I'm going to buy a little at a time.

I have a 35 gallon plexiglas hex aquarium. I plan on moving up to a 125 gallon once the cowfish and snowflake eel get bigger. But right now they're tiny so that's a couple years off.

Lastly, I realize the cowfish will probably nibble on things, so I'm not going to be looking for any coral or shrimp or crabs specifically, just some things I can place strategically so he can't get at them easily, you know, with some algae, some polyps, and other misc live things on it to brighten/liven up the tank more and make it look more natural and interesting for them and me.

Right now the tank only has some lava base rock at the bottom for the eel to hide under. But it's a nice base to place other live rock on.

Or would I be better off going to the LFS and picking out some base or live rock?

Any comments and suggestions appreciated, thanks in advance.

Liverocks.com I never read anyone who had problems with them. They don't sell Fiji or Tonga, but it is very nice rock...

premium aquatics has nice fiji and tonga and marshall island if that is what you are looking for. And the price is great.

I bought 60 lbs of lr from lfs. it had 3 polyps on it. The 20 lbs from liverocks.com has about 20 polyps a curlycue anenome and a small clam, along with 2 green crabs that came off when I dipped the rock. Very Satisfied.

Go to the Warehouse in San Diego.....Or Octopuss' Garden. Ron is a good guy at the garden. Nice pieces of cured rock and the 11 pounds I bought from him for my 7 gallon was covered in coralline and had about 20 small brittle stars living in the rock. 858 576 7449
