Best Planted substrate

At the lfs I saw 2 planted substrate one being the flora max and the other seachem flourite which is better any other ones you recommended

I have no experience with either of those. I use EcoComplete, black, regular size. Combined with root pellets, I am getting decent results growing plants.

I just set up a 100g with plain miracle gro organic garden soil with a white play sand cap. Cost me under $15. After the first week my plants have taken off and haven't showed any signs of slowing....but it is just a month old.

I would recommend organic potting soil capped with an ecocomplete butttt it's a bit of a challenge at first.. I don't know how new you are to all this though...
