Betta Casualty :(

I went to feed my betta today, and he wasn't waiting for me in his usual spot. I looked for him all over, only to see pieces of his fins floating... Even on the lowest setting, it seems he got sucked into my filter Poor guy, he was so beautiful.

All thats left in my tank now is a lone mystery snail.. Maybe I should house a better swimmer next time :/

I really love bettas, so I got another one today. A red crowntail.

I modified my filter to hopefully prevent this from happening again. I took a hairnet, and wrapped the filter's tube in it, shoved it into place and cut the rest off. Now theres a grating over the entrance to the filter tube.

WOW even in those small quarters you can see how beautiful it is. sorry to hear your other betta died but it's good you've fixed the problem so your new guy stays safe. beautiful betta.
