What does everyone think about this Biotope setup - is it a realistic refection??
Aiming for S.American clearwater

Plants:
3 x Echinodorus Amazonicus
1 x Echindorus Quadricostatus
2 x vallisneria
1 x Echinodrus Osiris
4 - 5 x Heteranthera zosterifolia (stargrass). Trying to grow a carpet.
4 - 5 x cabomba
plus some dwarf HG

plus a large piece of driftwood, and 2 x smaller pieces.

Fish:

3 x Pterophyllum scalare (Angelfish). 1 black, 1 x silver striped, 1 x black/silver striped
13 x Thayeria obliqua (Penguin tetras) - maybe increasing to 20
4 x Microgeophagus altispinosa (Bolivian Rams)
2 x otos
2 x Ancistrus, longfinned bristlenose
1 x Ancistrus, albino bristlenose

Plus 1-2 whiptails to come soon..

I also have these guys in the same tank, but as theyre left over from another tank, they will be removed very soon.

3 x Hemigrammus rhodostomus (Rummy nose) - not sure whether to keep them and increase school to 6, or get rid of them altogether.
3 x cardinal tetras - soon to be going
3 x glass catfish - soon to be going
2 x polkadot loaches - soon to be going

Two things to consider:

#1 Stargrass is not a carpeting plant.

#2 I think that while most of your fish and plants are geographically from the same reason, they might not be normally found in the same water systems. Just a thought to consider.

Hi

Which fish / plants dont fit into the same water systems?? Or rather what do you see as the oddballs?!

I have had stargrass trained into a carpet before. It takes a lot of effort but can be done.
