Are Black Kuhli Loaches good community fish? I was thinking of getting two (2) to go with my 9 Mollies and five Platty's! inmy 46 gallon tank. All recommendations of aadditional fish are welcome!

They are great community fish. They appreciate a soft substrate they can burrow in, like sand or small smooth stones. I would add them if you have sharp gravel. Like most loaches, they do better in a group, so I would go for atleast 5.

I say that substrate is fine. please get at least a group of 4.

they need things to find under, mine like the drift wood the best ( I have 7 in a 60g hex community tank) mine don't dig down into my sand or gravel.

They are great community fish! They have little bioload so I would recomend you get at least 6 (I know this is the 3rd number youve been recommended to get) but they will be much much more active! I have 6 and they are always out and active!

No uprooting. Mine tangle themselves up in the water sprite! It is cool!
