I want to get a few glow fish for one of my tanks and have read that you can use a "black light" for night time so they will glow. Has anybody ever used a black light? I'm concerned that it wouldn't be good for the fish. Also, if you have used them and feel its safe, do you know where to buy one for aquarium use?

I haven't tried the black light with my glofish. I'm not sure if all that UV exposure is good either? However, I do have 50/50 PC lighting and the blue actinic light (that's meant for SW) really makes the color pop on the glofish! At night I have some blue LED moonlights and it makes them look like they're glowing too.

If u wanted something just to turn on every once in a while I would just go to Walmart and get one for like $10 that u hang on the wall
