I have some black algea that builds up in my cichlid tank. Is there a safe way to get rid of it beside scrubing down the plants all the time.

do you have any kind of allgea eater? If not i reccomend either a plecotsumas (if that is how you spell it) or the otocinulus (also not sure on spelling) The pleco can grow very big, and you will only need one. The ottos stay fairly small but u will need a couple, what size tank (in gal)

It may be brush algae. If so, I don't know any other way to get rid of it. Can you post a pic? What are your nitrate levels?
