Hi I have been collecting black nose dace from creeks for a while now, and I still have not got any information about keeping them in aquariums. Anyone know anything about them?

Thanks

It depends on which darter you're going for tank size. Some stay around 2 inches, some get about 6. Mine only eat frozen or live, they refuse flake and freeze dried. They're slow compared to others in my tank so I have to use a turkey baster and squirt food to them. They're very mellow, getting along great with my kuhlis, white clouds, marble hatchets, florida flagfish. Strong current, natural decor, no need for salt.

Here's where I'm going to be getting more and some different one's from:

If you click on compatibility by the name of one you like, it gives you more info.

My personal choices for my own set up would be the greensides and the rainbows. I love the colors and according to the compatibility page, they would get along with your blacknoses.

What size tank are you keeping them in?
