M thinking of getting a blenny or 2 for my tank. Are they effective algae eaters?

I would only do 1. What size tank is it? They are good algae eaters but make sure once your tank is algae free to supplement them with algae sheets.

75 gallon I use algae sheets for my tangs

Yep he will eat off that as well.

I've been told that keeping multiple blennies is possible if they are different subspecies.If you get one blenny that has "fat lips" you can put one that doesn't. So, a lawnmower should be ok with a tailspot for example. Never tried this myself but I have been told so by an experienced LFS employee.

scooter blennys are actually part of the dragonet family, not the blenny family. Same as mandarins.

I have a 60g tank with multiple blennys and gobies, no fighting or anything.

And yes, that is a dragonette above not actually a blenny. Has he eaten yet? They are extremely hard to get to eat frozen food.
