I'm thinking about getting one and I've read some things that say they need atleast 10g and some that say 50g. Also do they do fine in a soil tank and it there anything else I should know about them?

I don't know to much about them other than the fact that they will dig around in the soil and tear up plants...but they are pretty neat little guys I would love to have one some day

You have to have them in a enough water to cover them so say 4in or 5in of water or you can do a full tank.. depends on what species you get on what size tank but if you get the smaller ones around 5in or so a 10g per crawfish is required.. they do dig up and climb on plants they eat moss or mine does.. a friend of mine wrote an article ill try and pull up to give alot.more info

Ok thanks, and I planned on putting him in a 10g by itself.

Turtles and crayfish don't work they will eat fish

I also found they don't stay blue for long
