Now I'm all worried about mine with all this wrong labeling talk. Is this a Bolivian?

I came home after school to check on them quick and they where both under a pile of snails. I did a quick test and the nitrate is extremely high. It was at 0 last night an hours after the water change when I put them in but now it's around 100. How do I get rid of it? There's no dead fish anywhere in it and they aren't overfed.

Oh okay yeah. So no problems so far. They actually swim together most of the time. But I have another 20g cycling and will most likely have them split up. But at this point they are honestly friends.

That's good. I've heard stories of both working and not. Glad it's working out.

You need to do a large water change immediately

I wouldn't say immediately, but very soon. Ammonia/nitrite being high would be a sign for IMMEDIATE attention. Just IMO.

I keep my ram with:
5 guppies
1 peacock Gudgeon
5 white skirt tetras
10 neon tetras
5 emerald cories
4 panda cories
1 baby dojo (temporary grow out)
1 Angelicus Botia

In a 45g

So I did the water change. How long do I have to wait to test again? I have a water wheel that stops spinning if there's nitrate and it's not moving so I'm a little concerned that there's still some there or my filter is broken.
It's a 20g tank with a penguin bio wheel 150 and whisper 10 filter
