Aquarium Advice FINatic
I am shocked... I have bought a total of 7 fish, 4 boesemani, 1 yoyo, 2 stiphodon gobies in this tank. As of about 4-6 weeks ago, I was down to 1 boesemani, 1 yoyo and 1 goby. Today, I noticed 4 baby fish in my tank!? I think it has been too long for this to be from the last rainbow to jump out and die.
I had noticed the yoyo and the rainbow (which I think is a female) have been very friendly lately and schooling together. Is a cross breed possible between such different species? They are swimming near the top of the tank, so I figure they aren't from the goby.
I read that eggs hatch in a week. How can I tell how old the fry are? Maybe they're a few weeks old? I've never had babies before! Should I pull them out and put them in the QT to protect them from mom?
