Hi all

I've recently purchased two pieces of aquarium bog wood from the local aquatics store. Both pieces were sandblasted. Although they've both been ferociously releasing tannins into the water, on one piece there now appears to be a healthy growth of what looks to be a cotton-like fungus.

I'm wondering what this is, and is it harmful? If it is bad, what's the best course of action?

Thanks,

Rik.

I had the same thing happen to me all I did was scrub it with some peroxide and rinsed it good. It never came back.

Thanks Joy, I was wondering if you knew what it was though - and whether it's actually harmful or beneficial....

It isn't harmful mollies actually eat the stuff. It is just something most people don't like to look at.

Thanks Joy. I've got a pleco catfish in there - will he eat it?
