We just bought a used system. 55 gal with 15 gal sump, skimmer and a little giant pump. This is our first salt water tank attempt. We hooked it all up the way we thought it should work and the water wont pump. Not sure if the pump isn't working or if we are doing something wrong. can someone help us?

ok found out how to get the overflow started by another web site by puttingin a tube and sucking out the air to get it started. YUCK.. put it worked. seems simple now that we know how it is suppose to work. :D

Step back take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. You are home free! Look up how to cycle your new tank on this site and read as many topics as you need to. Remember nothing fast happens in this hobby except mistakes. ;)

Yes years ago I had a HOB overflow and had to siphon the tube. Many a time had a mouth full of SW. LOL. Welcome to the site.
