Hello everyone,
I was wondering what the ideal conditions are for breeding firemouths. I have 6 and they have been in my tank for about 5 months now and idk what's wrong. They don't breed...
It's a 70g with a parrot, pleco Severum and geo.
Nobody bothers them and there are
10 caves
Not sure how to sex them but I am just wondering if they will breed. It's just the curiosity not that I want to pursue it.
Thanks in advance

Give it a few more months and you should not have a problem. They are probably a little young yet. You are better off with them not breeding because they turn nasty after breeding. I have bred them several times and the same thing happens with every pair.

As far as conditions go they do prefer sand substrate and clean water.
