Broken power filter

I am on day 4 of a fish-in cycle, ammonia levels just starting to rise to .25

After completing a 25% water change I plugged back in the Aqueon 30 power filter and it isnt working, but its making weird noises and trying to...

At this stage in the cycle, can my fish survive without the power filter running for approximately 11 hours until I can get it replaced tomorrow?

Should I submerge the filter media in the tank?

Any help is appreciated...this is my first real problem.

Take out the impeller and give it and the little hole it sits in a rinse. There may be something stuck in there.
