I've been getting a lot of brown algae all vet my plants, how do I get rid of it? Here's a pic,
My nitrates were way too high so I did 2 20% water changes last week , they are still around 50
Ammonia and nitrite are 0 temp is 75, it's a 36 gallon, I don't water change that much so could increasing water changes make it go away ? Or keep from getting it?

Probably diatoms. Make sure you don't overfeed, do a big water change like 75% and they will go away eventually.

Will it disappear off of the plants?

Okay I did a 40% change, how much should I be doing a week? Just one? And how much? 20% or more?

Since I've done the water changes it seems to have gotten worse. I did 2 water changes that week; one 20% and one 40% and the nitrates are still in the 40 to 50 range. I don't know what to do. Help! Here's another pic of the algae.

It also seems to only be on plants exposed to light. The leaves that aren't getting light are fine.

Mine has been getting slowly worse. But has been rapidly getting worse in the last month.
