I'm not sure what type of plant this is, but numerous brown spots have developed on the bottom of the leaves. I know they're not snail eggs, so I'm curious if it's some sort of fungus and what I should do about it. Thank you! Well the spots just don't look as clear as the snail eggs in the tank. Here's some pics of the for sure snail eggs in my tank. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1389218278.897120.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1389218295.097565.jpg

I don't know much about plants, but after some googling it looks like they could be sporangia. Does that sound right? Will these spots grow new plants or anything like that?

Java ferns develop hard bumps on the leaves where the baby plants are forming.
Are those spots raised and jelly-like? Can you squish them? If so I would say they are a common pond-type snail (the other eggs are most likely from the type of snail on the glass in your picture)

Are the brown spots raised and squishy? Baby ferns start off as tiny hard bumps on the underside of the parent plant's leaves. They look like the common pond snail eggs, while those other eggs most likely belong to the snail in your photograph.
