Building a tank vs buying a tank

Well I can't seem to help myself from buying new stock. So many cichlids so little time.

I need to get atleast a 75 preferably a 90 gallon.
But I have been toying with the idea of building my own tank to fit perfectly in the space I have. Like a 48x26x24

Anyone built their own tank? Is it cheaper to do? A pain to do? Any thoughts?

If you can get the glass cheap off cl or something, otherwise it's like 4x the cost, you can find some odd sized tanks out there.. i just scooped a 30x16x12 today for$20
