Hi, I’m wanting to convert my 75 gallon into a planted tank. I don’t know where to bulk buy aquarium plants, as I have a lot of tank to plant. I’d purchase plants at the pet stores, but I was hoping that bulk buying might be a cheaper option

As far as bulk buying plants, in order to get a worthwhile volume discount you would likely have to purchase far more than are required to plant your tank. With that being said, there are a lot of online options for buying plants that still sell at retail prices but are usually cheaper than what you will see in stores. Here are a few good sites to check out.

As a fellow (presumed) modern planted tank newb I suggest you read the "How Long to Establish Plants?" thread I started early this year. The answer BTW is "months" for the plants themselves and "many months" for the planted aquarium.

The simple answer to your question is "maybe." It depends on your local access to the plants you want. You can likely buy enough from an on-line seller to get free shipping with prices lower than you can find locally.

No matter where you buy them nearly all were grown semi-submerged with adult leaves fully above water. These leaves will dissolve within weeks/months after you put them under water and must be replaced by new growth.

Conditioning and growing them in containers (NOT those in which the plant is received) makes easy work of the early and frequent maintenance required to establish. It also makes cleaning and If you have another decent sized tank consider using it as a conditioning tank for plants to use at least until they have their true underwater foliage. These containers https://www.amazon.com/Kootek-Organizer-Bathroom-Organizers-Customize/dp/B0829NQ462/ref=sr_1_32_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=plastic+organizer+containers+2%22+deep&qid=1624651205&sr=8-32-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExQ0Q3VUFZTkZJU1kyJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzc2ODc3M0NGU0RBT0Q5S01OMCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTk5NDM3M09DSUNROEhLTlNJSiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX210ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= work well. Drill numerous small holes in them for rooting.

Get a set of plant tools that includes long "tweezers", curved scissors and a straight trowel.

I get most of mine from marcusfishtanks on ebay. He runs 2-for-1 and other deals and his plants are always exactly as pictured, detailed as sm-med-lg. He ships fast and they have always arrived in beautiful condition. Answers all questions promptly. No complaints! He's in Texas.
