I was wondering if a male red velvet swordtail and a female marigold swordtale could breed. I've searched all over google, and I couldn't find an answer. Anyone here know?

Many breeders set out to do this purposely. Originally there was but 1 swordtail variation, the Green Swortail. Now there are too many to know. This came about by cross breeding with other livebearers like platies and mollies. It is still possible for you to breed generations of color variations and produce one that nobody has ever seen before. The idea of discovering/engineering a new genetic strain is what gets many livebearer breeders into the hobby.
