I am a old rookie with a new tank. See Pics below
Tank: 29g tall 19" high.
I started with an T8 24" 17 w. 8000k full spectrum light 18" from substrate.
Substrate: Eco-Complete
Added Beamworks Plant Bright LED:54 LEDs 2700Lumen 0.50watt 54x 6500K 30 watts 12-14 hrs day ( I now know way too much time )
Ran both light together. Just today am only running T8 Light and will be 8-9 hrs.
Ammonia 0ppm Nitrates 0ppm Nitrates low (barely readable on the test strip). PO4 reading is between 0 and 0.25ppm I do a 10-15% water change weekly.
DIY CO2 ( yeast bottle - unsure on bubbles per minute ) On and off
Fish bio load is roughly 25 small 1-1.75 inch tetras, Plattys, Cory Cats.
I use 1/2 cap ful of Flourish 2x a week.
After I added the LED light the problem appeared slightly worsen.
I added 14 more ghost shrimp, 2 bamboo shrimp and a small pleco to eat algae.
I am starting a 125g tank tomorrow so they will have a bigger home.
Questions:
What are the algae on the plants?
Do the plants exhibit symptoms of other problems?
How do I get rid of the Algae?
I understand it is not a good idea to put these Algae infested plants, rocks and wood into the new tank without cleaning it. Correct?
How do I clean them?
Based on the above narrative any feedback?
I would really appreciate any help......
