Can females be aggressive?

Hey guys I just bought a new fish which I'm 80% sure she a female saulosi however now I'm thinking she's something completely different because she is chasing the other fish around. So can females be aggressive???

And also I think she might be holding but she may not be because sometimes her mouth looks like she is but then sometime it doesn't.

And do female cichlids that are holding chase others?

Females become more aggressive when holding.

I've had females chase sub dom males and other females so yes.
