I have 25 baby fry in my nursery aquarium and I want to put one of my catfish in my community tank in it for a couple of hours to eat up all the food scraps. The babies still aren't eating very much still. Will the catfish harm the baby fish In anyway? Or will they get along just fine? Please help!!!

Most catfish are opportunistic feeders and will eat anything it can fit in its mouth.

Had a friend once come home to find the tail of his red tail shark still hangin out the mouth of the cat fish.

So I should wait a little longer until the babies are bigger to add a catfish?

Yes I'm pretty sure they would fit. They were just born yesterday. I'll wait a week or two then ill add the cat fish .

Depending on the fish, I like to use Malaysian Trumpet snails to clean up around fry. The problem with Malaysian Trumpet snails is that they reproduce rapidly and do not need a sexual partner.
