Can i put a yellow lab in my community tank?

^^ agreed. Yellow labs belong in tanks with other Africans not community fish.

I have labs with some tiger barbs. They pretty much stay to themselves. Every once in a while my one yellow lab will give a little chase when a barb gets too close but I've had no deaths. It's a gamble but sometimes it works

Tiger barbs are boisterous and nippy. I'm not surprised to hear you have them coexisting but the OP has some very passive, peaceful fish that wouldn't last with a yellow lab.
