I have a small HOB filter on my tank and have meds in the tank i want to add some carbon. Can i just place some carbon chips behind the filter pad loose in the HOB? Will it have the same results? Thanks!

I'd say that will be fine as long as some water flow is going across them. Just check they can't get sucked into the impeller - I've done that before :(

Ok so the loose chips dodnt work can i use a plastic walmart bag to run the water thru? Will there be any adverse affects?

a walmart bag....what?

you can pick up a media bag at any pet store or use something like stocking if you have it

Yea i was in a pinch bc i had no money i found a small mesh bag that is doing perfect.

Mesh bag sounds good. Just arrange so the water flow will be through and not around the bag.

I've looked around for different carbon sizes out of interest but it seems all one pellet size here now.
