Carbon

I`m kind of partial to chemi pure. It`s kind of like a resin and works better and longer than GAC
 
Carbon removes active chemicals in the water. This is a really good idea at the end of a course of medicine, or if something releases toxins in the water, or if you're painting somewhere in the house, but on a regular basis isn't all that useful. Most of the causes of cloudiness in the water is not related to the compounds that carbon removes.
 
Carbon is one of the best things you can use in the tank. Call it a safety net if you will. It removes unseen toxins and chemical components created inside the tank as well as in the air. I run carbon and a Polyfilter in my nano's 24/7.
