I do weekly water changes (12%) with IO salt in my 46 FOWLR. Using a new IO calcium test kit I was getting a reading of about 270. Rechecked VERY carefully and got the same results ?????
I have been dosing with C-Balance for about 5 days. Tested today and got a reading of 285.
I brought a sample to my lfs and had it retested with their Salifert kit. They got a reading of 350. :?
Disappointing because I thought that the test kits were the final say on water parameters and now I don't think you can even rely on them. Who knows which kit is right and which is wrong? You ASSUME that your kits are accurate but who knows.
Either way, I think I need to continue to dose with C-Balance until calcium levels are higher on either kit.
