TLDR: Had tank for 5 months now… will catch 1-2 shrimps molting per month yet they never eat their shell.

Hi, I’ve had this 10 gallon tank with a betta and 5 cherry shrimps. They have lots of plants and my betta has hideouts. I’ve never noticed the betta attacking or even looking at the shrimp so i don’t think that is a part of the problem but thought I’d mention it.
I’m aware that the shrimps will molt however from what I read they will eat their molt after. I will leave the molt in there for a few days and it looks like it never gets touched. I’m just concerned cause I’m worried They might not be getting the right nutrients.

Do you have other sources of calcium or anything like that in the tank??
The molts I find in my tank are ALWAYS gone by the next morning and I have no fish in there. Just the shrimp.
But I suppose it is possible that they are already getting enough calcium and nutrients that they do not need it??
Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will be able to help you more!!
