i have some rock formations in my tank and seems like food and poop are being collected along the sides and under the rocks.

is there any special way to clean vac this or should i just let the filters eventually pick it up?

i've heard some veteran mbuna keepers say that they keep a small powerhead handy, so that when they clean the tank, they can push all the crud out in the open to vac it. I just get what I can, never had any problems. I'm sure there is tons trapped under my rocks, as I rarely clean out from under them and never have much to get with my gravel vac...

I just stick the end of the siphon into the substrate around the base of big rocks and let it suck away. Each week I try to hit a different spot.
