Cloudy and whiteish film

I tried using the search function for others with the same issue but seems to be an issue with the search atm.
Last week I did about a 50% pwc, a few days after I started to notice the water was cloudy almost whiteish color with the light on, and sort of a greenish tint with the light off. Today I started to notice a film on the inside of the glass that seems to be working its way up. I used soft sponge and wiped some of it off to inspect it and it comes off light brownish. Would this be an algae growth?

does it look like almost a cloud rolling around when you see it with the light on or is it just kind of a haze in the water?

Wow, sounds exactly like my problem after cleaning, except for the film on the glass (sounds like diatoms to me on the glass).. Do objects in the tank look like they have a halo look to them?

nothing floating around, just a haze in the water.

Update - after cleaing most of that "stuff" off the glass it seems to be clearing.
