co2 equiment question

i notice for a basic co2 construction the 2 most expsensive parts are the can and the regulator so im wondering i think i found a cheaper way round it is to use welding parts like the regulator which i seen half the price is this good or not advisable
 
They are the same part really. If you do decide to use a normal regulator, you will need to buy the solenoid, needle valve, and drop checker separately.
 
Needle valve allows for fine flow adjustment, solenoid allows the tank to be automated, bubble counter (not drop checker as I originally said, but you'll need one of them too) allows you to see how much CO2 your putting in the tank.
