In my 55 gallon I want to have co2 not the DIY it would just become such a hassle what is the best choice for me I am looking at the pressurized stuff but dont want to pay A fortune could I make a nice co2 pressurized with out all the hassle of yeast and sugar thanks

This is the setup i use on my tank

- milwaukee regulator, solenoid, bubble counter, and co2 tubing as a kit for $90 online

- 10# CO2 tank from a local welding shop for $90, and $15 refills once a year

- an in-line atomizer diffuser for my canister filter for $25

- a timer for the solenoid for $5

A sizeable up front cost, but the consistency and the set-it-and-forget-it was well worth it

At what point would you need to go with co2 on a planted tank. I have a few plants but not sure if I need co2.

You don't need co2 until you move up to high light heavily planted tanks.
