I currently have a 55g brackish tank with Anubius hairgrass and hornwort. The Anubius and hornwort do fine but the hairgrass has a brown tint to it. I don't have any CO2 generators in the tank and want to know if I should add one. I don't think lighting is a problem I use 2 aqueon fluorescent hood with bulbs specified for planted tanks. Any advice is helpful

Keep calm and drum on

I don't know about co2 but I would guess your lighting also isn't cutting it for the hairgrass.

I'm guessing you are talking about Dwarf Hairgrass (DHG)? It's far from the easiest plant in the book to grow and really needs fairly high lighting and co2 injection(or lots of glut) to thrive.

Those lights are basically useless for plants on that tank. I don't really think any plants will.do well longterm in a brackish tank,.could be wrong though.. dhg requires med light, solid carbon source and solid fert regiment..
